A month nearly gone ...

So, as you can tell, I haven't got blogging cracked yet.
It still doesn't come as easily as e-mailing.
I can't see what happened to the image I just attempted to download.

So, here goes again!

Ah, this time it arrived, and stayed put.
This shows my frantic harvest of apples and pears at the beginning of the month.
It was getting quite windy, and I wanted to have some russets to keep for a while.

The pears ripen so quickly, usually from the inside out, that they won't keep for more than a week or two.
Most of them went into making pear and ginger jam.
I had just finished the last jar from 2003.
We seem to get good crops of pears every two years, and the last ones get made into jam.

The russets won't last long either, as so many of them split from the irregular rainfall here this year.

No time to post more now, as the sun is shining, and I ought to get outside for a while before it gets dark.
As the clocks changed last night, the day will seem very short.

Well done for doing the tricky bit of posting a picture.
